Dragonwood is the name of our home, in the countryside of southern Michigan, with lots of birds and wildlife, and of course, The Garden. We have work lives as a computer programmer/geologist, and a midwife. We live without the use of pesticides, herbicides, and chemicals on the land and in our food. We try to live as sustainably to the environment as we can, recycling, composting, eating what we grow seasonally, and minimizing consumerism. We’ll write about life here on occasion, and if you submit comments we’ll probably post them up. At times we may take a retrospective look at our world, and include prose and poetry from old journals and writings of friends. Maybe we’ll vent or muse or just share thoughts of the day, or edit each other’s writing. We raise chickens and veggies and sometimes kittens. The chickens are like pets, except working pets who give us lots of eggs. The kittens grow up to be cats and are friends with the chickens. Some of them even eat each others’ food. The cats also scare off the groundhogs and rabbits from our garden, and eat the mice (ok, and some of the rabbits) in the yard and barn and chicken shed. So the cats are working pets too.
